Today’s plan was simple: fly my Autel Evo Lite at my favorite overlook of the Snake River Canyon here in Idaho.
Instead, the Autel app failed — and it’s no longer available on the App Store. 😳
That raised a serious question: is my Evo Lite about to become an expensive paperweight?
Thankfully, my DJI Neo 2 was ready to fly.
With brisk temperatures, light winds, and early signs of spring appearing in the canyon’s green vegetation, I tested the Neo 2’s Dolly Zoom and Orbit features — and it performed beautifully.
As I pulled into the parking area, I also received a news notification about the death of the Iranian leader. Wow. Just wow. It was one of those surreal moments where global events collide with quiet personal reflection. Being in nature, flying drones over the Snake River, felt grounding in a world that can change in an instant.
