On September 19th, Penny passed peacefully into eternity after a brief battle with cancer and organ failure. On her final day, we went for a sunrise walk at Eagle Island State Park and watched as the sun rose above the Boise mountains, illuminating the mists covering the fields. At home, she feasted on ice cream and coffee as I hugged her a million times. I wished so much that we had more time, but she was tired and was being called Home today.
I want to thank Gentle Goodbyes for stepping up on short notice to make Penny’s passing at home, in my arms, as peaceful and loving as possible. Your sensitivity and compassion in this trying time is commendable.
I want to thank the Veterinarians and Vet Techs from Northwest Animal Hospital in Boise for their expert care of Penny over the years and for the flowers sent after her passing.
From our first hello to our last goodbye, Penny’s presence enriched my life, and I am profoundly grateful for the ten years she was by my side.
Run free my sweet girl, as the fields are ripe for play. I’ll save space for you till we meet again someday.
