This video documents my 2nd attempt at tailoring at home. I thrifted a nearly new Statement Italian 3-piece suit that was quite a bit too big in the legs and around the chest, and the body was too long. This time I reduced the chest size, reduced the length of the body of the jacket, and I took a lot of material out of the legs. I learned how to do all of this from Louis Geramita's YouTube channel "Aspiring Gent".
30 - "Staying in my lane" & my philosophy
03 - Analyzing the quality of the Statement suit
24 - The "before" jacket fitment
07 - The "before" slacks fitment
28 - Pinning & marking the excess slacks material
50 - Disassembling the slacks cuffs and opening the seam & transferring the marks to the inside fabric
13 - Restitching along the new marks
42 - Taking a first look at my work on the slacks
27 - Taking in the other leg
10 - Moving the rear crease and ironing flat the new seam
59 - Sewing the cuffs back up
02 - Pinning the side of the jacket
40 - Marking the side panel to take in
28 - Opening up the bottom and side of the jacket & transferring the marks to the inside material
11 - Closing the shell side panel along the new marks, removing the excess material, and closing up the lining
12 - Shortening the bottom of the jacket
57 - Trying on the jacket with one side taken in and shortened
31 - Showing some of the details of the construction of the side panels and lining attachment
06 - Closing up the new bottom hems
34 - Taking apart the side seam of the other side
27 - Pinning the second side vent alteration
39: Major mistake #2
13 - Reattaching the lining and closing up the side vent
30 - Finishing closing the shortened jacket bottom seam
14 - The final result! The good, bad, and the ugly...
56 - Outro & closing shots
