This is a great project to have the little ones learn some tools and help Dad in the shop. Plus learning about birds will follow.
I used half a piece of 1x12x8 rough sawn pine for the majority of this bird house build to give it a rustic appearance. The rest of the pieces are scrap from 2 by material, other 3/4 stock and some 7/16" dowel scraps.
