element14 presents | DIY Low Cost Capacitance Meter Using a 555 Timer @element14presents | Uploaded December 2022 | Updated October 2024, 1 week ago.
For many electronics hobbyists, a tool for measuring capacitance is not easy on the wallet. That’s why Surbhika decided to build her own DIY capacitance meter, which costs less than $5 USD. In this episode, she demonstrates how she used a 555 Timer IC to convert capacitance into frequency, and then uses a Raspberry Pi Pico to display the calibrated capacitance in microfarads.
