In this video, I’ll show you how to create a DIY Bitcoin ticker using the popular M5Dial ESP32 board. This project is perfect for Bitcoin owners who want to monitor real-time price changes, track halving dates, and even set an alarm for price alerts!
🔔 Features of the Bitcoin Ticker:
Current Bitcoin price
Halving date
24-hour price change
Customizable price alarm with sound notification
I’ve connected the board to Wi-Fi, and the data updates every 1-2 minutes using a websocket provided by Kwind. (Thank you, Kwind, for the free Bitcoin data!) I’ve also added a dial feature to set your target price, and if Bitcoin reaches that value, the alarm will beep.
📱 Device Used: The M5Dial ESP32 board is easy to mount, supports various power sources, and comes packed with features like a rotary encoder, buzzer, button, display, RFID reader, and more—all for a great price. Check the link if you want to learn more about it.

🛠️ Project Code: The code is linked below! Don’t forget to input your Wi-Fi details and install the necessary libraries before you start.

If you’re new to my channel, make sure to check out my other projects and subscribe for more exciting DIY builds with development boards. I only work with boards that have built-in displays, and I spend a lot of time making sure everything looks great. Join us as we master the Arduino IDE!
If you’d like to support my work, you can buy me a coffee on Ko-fi (though I’ll probably spend it on beer 😄).
