Last week, from Monday to Thursday, due to resurfacing works on the A23, London Road North was closed, preventing routes 357 (non-TFL) and 405 from serving Redhill via Merstham. So, some 405 buses ran short via regular routing up to Hooley, which was its new temporary terminus, while other buses were able to serve Redhill via this diversion.
This diversion started from Purley Cross, following the 407 via Kenley and Whyteleafe. It then took the third exit from the roundabout (the 407 takes the 4th exit), and travelled along the Caterham Bypass (a 50mph National Speed Limit (NSL) section), until the next roundabout, were it again took the third exit. The 405 then followed Metrobus 400 via Godstone and Nutfield all the way up to Redhill. Here are the timestamps of each section:

London bus route 405 is operated by Arriva London South from their South Croydon (TC) garage, allocated with Alexander Dennis Enviro400 MMC (HT) double deckers.
