In today’s tutorial, I’m sharing how to use simple distressing techniques to add depth, texture, and that perfectly imperfect look to your handmade cards. We’re using the Pop-Up Petals bundle to create a layered design that’s easy to customize with whatever you have in your stash.
This is a great technique to try if you’re looking to step outside your usual style and add a bit more character to your cards.
Supplies:
Pop-Up Petals stamps & dies
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Basic White, Garden Green
Basic White cardstock scraps (for stamping)
Designer Series Paper: Wood Grain Wonders
Dies: Nested Essentials, Creative Haven
Ink: Early Espresso, Tuxedo Black, Hydrangea Hue
Stampin’ Blends & Colour Lifter
Linen thread
Embellishments of your choice
Measurements:
Early Espresso card base: 5½ x 8½
Crumb Cake layer: 4⅛ x 5⅜
Wood Grain Wonders DSP: 4 x 5¼
Basic White layer: 4⅛ x 5⅜
Prep Work:
Die cut two rectangles using the largest Nested Essentials die (Wood Grain Wonders DSP + Early Espresso)
Die cut greenery from Garden Green using Creative Haven dies
