Regarding micro-etching and not pre-rinsing your dishes, that's information that I learned directly from the scientists at Cascade on one of my visits to P&G headquarters. I've also had a handful of customers and have spoken to many of my followers who have personally experienced this phenomenon! Dishwasher manufacturers (to be specific, manufacturers of full-size residential dishwashers) will even tell you to SCRAPE off large bits of food from your dishes into the trash or compost before loading your dishes into your dishwasher, but DO NOT RINSE.
As for dishwasher detergent sheets, they're just as much of a scam as laundry detergent sheets. Which is to say that they cost more per ounce of product than the majority of other forms of dishwasher detergent, but it's still the same ingredients. Don't fall for their "eco-friendly" claim--they're just using that tagline to trick you into buying less for more.
