After having played 3 different maps from Isaev in the past I have to say that he is a very household name for me now when it comes to custom Mappers and that I expect some pretty high level of map building and visuals whenever I start a playthrough of things he build. And I have to say, with this map he has once again build something insane and even better than the high quality maps he produced in the past already! This entire Hogwarts castle map honestly rivals what they have build for the Order of the Phoenix video game and it features sooo many iconic and recognizable places from the Harry Potter world, it's just awesome!
I can't imagine how difficult and time consuming it must have been to build a castle THIS big and with such super nice visuals and I have to admit, discovering the open world here made me really wish this would have been the Hogwarts castle of my childhood from the original game. It's honestly just perfect, exactly how you would imagine the castle to look from the books and movies, a ton of different areas and styles and super fun to discover secrets! And since it's build with the new engine as well of course everything looks super crisp and just amazingly pretty which is awesome!
And that's not even all of it, this level is supposed to "only" be a kind of hub level for all the other, very long and thorough, maps that Isaev has build in the past and will build in the future. So there is even more content to discover if you haven't seen or played those yet, for me the only new one started in the Great Hall trophy room and took us on a crazy journey down into Hogwarts's belly and through the sewers. Very awesome map design as well (apart from some secrets I didn't like) and a very fun new custom map Challenge as well since it actually got quite difficult at parts.
It's very easy for me to give this map a rating this time, absolute 11/10 for sure! I might even give half a bonus point for a cameo from a certain someone in the Grand Staircase buuut you will have to watch the video for that, hope you will enjoy my custom map discovery!

We have done a good couple of Max% runs recently with an additional ruleset put on top (like a different language or One-Hit KO) but now its honestly time again for a good old classic Max% Speedrun going for a valid time and PB! And especially the valid time aspect is a lot easier said than done in this run since the rules basically involve doing EVERYTHING you could think of in this game which means there are also some things that are easy to forget and miss.
Especially the Trigger All Cutscenes rule is very easy to accidentally break, there are just a ton of small and non-story cutscenes in this game that the devs kind of added in there to make the immersion better and for some great world building. So there were a lot of things to remember especially in the early game of the run! On top of that we of course have to collect everything, cast onto everything, do the normal 100% stuff and even buy items once at every trader in the game!
I absolutely love doing those Max% runs though, they always very much remind me of a casual childhood attempt just walking around interacting with and discovering everything I possibly could back then and it also leads us through a good couple of areas that we havent seen in a while since the Speedrun route doesnt go past it. Always a blast to be doing those, I have to redo that concept again in both Harry Potter 1 (PC) and Harry Potter 3 (PC) again soon as well!
