We were racing to beat search and rescue that night, because once they arrived we knew that we'd have to leave the Forester on that mountain for a long time, maybe indefinitely.
This the final video documenting a day when things went seriously wrong while off-road at East Lynn, all the way up until the cameras stopped rolling.
As much as this is a video (and series) demonstrates how important it is to get a good night's sleep (so you can pay attention to details) before going overland through unknown terrain, it's also a great display of persistence and teamwork. This film relives a profoundly crappy experience, but even though reality was actively working against us, we were determined to endure through it all without submitting to our circumstances.
Also, for those wondering why we didn't sleep it off - we wanted to, but there were good reasons we didn't...like sloppy planning, and finding out that search and rescue was looking looking for us. We are all about preparedness, so just enjoy the story of our mistakes - we are well aware of them, and have chosen to show you anyway.
