In this video, I show you some gameplay from DiRT Showdown, and this gameplay is showing one of the modes within DiRT Showdown, which is 8 Ball Racing.
Racing fans should be very familiar with 8 Ball Racing, for those that are unsure, it's a normal race to the finish, but with crossovers, and jumps in the track, which cause carnage during the race!
DiRT Showdown is the latest in the series of DiRT, and it has taken a dramatic change from the previous games. Showdown has been confirmed to being a "Spin-off", and just a bit of fun and not to be mistaken with DiRT 4, which is a relief! Because I have been a fan of DiRT, and Colin Mcrae games in general since the PS1 Colin Mcrae Rally, and changing a game from Rally, to Demo-Derby events is a huge change, and I am sure other fans of the series feel the same way.
I really wasn't interested in Showdown when it was first announced, due to the theme of it, so I didn't bother buying it straight away. But I decided to give it a go (By renting the game) to see if it was any good, because Codemasters don't normally disappoint. And it's a pretty fun game, but I can't see my self playing it as much as I did with DIRT 2, and DiRT 3.
I would of preferred to see this game as a DLC, rather than a fully priced game. It's good fun for a while, but it has no where near the amount of content DiRT 3 had, and both games are the same price (Pretty much), so if you're looking for a decent racing game, I would look further into DiRT 3 over Showdown. But, if anything, it's worth a rent but not a buy in my opinion.
