Mulholland Road turns into a dirt road as you head west towards the ocean, and there is a big gate in place that keeps the cars out. Bicycles and e-bikes are allowed to ride on dirt Mulholland Road, but they do have rules as to what class of electric bikes are allowed. The only e-bikes you are allowed to ride on dirt Mulholland Road are class one e-bikes. A class 1 electric bike is pedal assist only, and it has a top speed of 20 mph. This means any ebikes with throttles are illegal, and any bike that can go more than 20 miles an hour is illegal. If you are considering riding an E-bike on old dirt Mulholland Road and you haven’t bought yourself an E-bike yet, this is a valuable consideration, and it would be best to buy a class one E bike.
