The magic of being able to "paint" colour onto stainless steel is a process that seems to attract many new laser diode users. This process is usually reserved for more powerful MOPA fiber lasers where submicron precision is possible. With fiber lasers this colour gimmick is possible but is so time consuming as to be nothing more than a marketing highlight. Can a significantly lower cost diode laser replicate this process and how can it generate multiple colours from a BLUE laser beam?
Colour is a something that everyone experiences and knows about......or do they?
