This evening, on Friday, October 2, 2020, Dimash’s most recently released music video “Qairan Elim” was streamed on American MTV’s official YouTube channel, on their program “Friday Livestream”, hosted by Kevan Kenney! The show’s theme this week was “Global #1’s”.
Leading up to this event, Dears had been collectively submitting a steady stream of requests to MTV, asking for Dimash to be featured on their show. The exuberant persistence paid off! This exciting news was announced on Wednesday this week. Dimash is the first music artist from Kazakhstan to have a song featured on USA’s MTV YouTube channel, performed entirely in the Kazakh language! History has been made INDEED!
Host, Kevan Kenney made several comments throughout the livestream, emphasizing the premier of Dimash on the program, stating that he is the first singer from Kazakhstan to be featured on the livestream. Kenney also commented “that’s one big fandom there” and “He is like a big deal.” At approximately 6:00pm EDT, it was reported that Dimash had breached the Top 10 request standings.
Dimash’s “Qairan Elim” music video premiered on MTV’s Friday Livestream at 6:35pm EDT during prime time in the United States. Dimash’s video was unlike any other played on the program tonight. Following Dimash’s video, MTV pinned a comment stating “DIMASH on MTV was amazing, what a cool video”. At 7:08pm EDT, Kenney provided an update, stating that Dimash had “cracked the Top 5” for number of requests!
At 7:42pm EDT the results of the “most requested artist” of the night was announced. Dimash held on to the #5 spot! This was an incredible first showing for Dimash on MTV! He went on to comment that it was great that Dimash has the support of his country behind him and how passionate his fans were!
