Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar, and is observed by Muslims worldwide, as a month of fasting.
This means that from dawn until sunset, Muslims abstain from eating, drinking and Smoking.
And at a special event held at Portsmouth in the community, people of different faiths and different backgrounds, were invited to learn more about this holy month, and share a traditional meal.
Richard Stringer went along to see how the evening was able to bring together the different communities in the city.
