Still no way to easily escape the room but neat.
The crystal that I'm jumping against loves to teleport you slightly into the wall if you jump into the crystal from the right spot/holding towards it.
Originally came across this clip a few months ago on emu but wasn't able to reproduce (was using Diddy, who is the least consistent). This is console footage though, so if nothing else at least it's verified console possible.
On the other side of the wall, there are no crystals. Just a few rock formations tight to the walls, a super tall torch that has enough room between it and the wall for Diddy and Tiny to run behind, and of course the mini monkey entrance. The mini monkey entrance does teleport you a little bit, but you don't get anywhere near the same results as you do from the other side.
The last clip is a softlock by the way. Pausing is impossible as the game believes you're still in the middle of the mini monkey tunnel cutscene.
