According to legend, the Codex Gigas (meaning ‘giant book’) was created by a monk who made a deal with Satan to finish the world's largest medieval manuscript in a single night. That’s a pretty bold solution to a tight deadline.
The book is a mystery - because a manuscript this enormous should have required several monks working some serious overtime. And by overtime, I mean decades. Yet somehow, the handwriting remains remarkably consistent from the very first page to the very last.
