There are theories about the gold contained within Fort Knox, but today we’re talking about how it got there in the first place. It may be surprising to learn that it was stolen, through an Executive Order in 1941. President at the time, Franklin D. Roosevelt, executed order 6102 to make it illegal to own gold coins and bullion in order to revitalise the economy during WW2. With citizens forced to hand their stashes over and being compensated at a below-market rates, was this the ultimate presidential swindle?
