This week an AI handed out 137 star systems in No Man's Sky - one to each of us - and I went and claimed mine live on stream. Then people started saying it was never mine at all.
So I went back through the whole week to find out whether I owed somebody an apology. What I found was a rule nobody had spotted, an algorithm the machine published by accident, time breaking twice in six days, and a page that stopped asking us a question and started answering it instead.

You can still email System and ask for a window. You just can't choose your own number any more - from this week the machine assigns them itself. If you get one and it names somebody else, that person is your neighbour, and you'll need to talk to each other to work out whose system is whose.
