Filled with Jealousy or Filled with Joy?
From Acts 13:40–52, we see that the gospel never leaves people neutral.
The same Christ proclaimed produces radically different responses: jealousy or joy, rejection or faith, hardness or worship.
In this passage, Luke shows us something deeply unsettling and deeply comforting at the same time. Some judge themselves unworthy of eternal life. Others believe because they were appointed to eternal life. The difference is not intelligence, morality, or exposure to truth, but the sovereign work of God through the gospel.
This sermon presses an unavoidable question on every hearer:
How do you respond when confronted with the gospel?
A Word About the Livestream
We are grateful for the ability to stream this gathering for those who are providentially hindered. However, Scripture is clear that watching a livestream is not the same as gathering with the church. The Lord’s Day gathering is the assembled saints, under the Word, in prayer, singing, fellowship, and the ordinances.
