As Jesus enters Jerusalem, He is not reacting to circumstances. He is fulfilling centuries of prophecy with precise, sovereign intention. From the Mount of Olives to the temple courts, every step declares a single reality: the King has come.
But not the king they expected.
In this sermon, we examine the weight of fulfilled prophecy from Zechariah, the significance of Christ’s chosen path, and the powerful imagery of the glory of God returning from the east. Jesus is revealed as the true Son of David, the greater King, and the true Temple—not to restore what was, but to replace it entirely.
The crowds cry “Hosanna,” yet many misunderstand what they are asking for. They want deliverance from circumstances. Christ comes to deliver from sin and death.
And still today, every person falls into one of three categories:
Those who reject Him, blinded by unbelief
Those who misunderstand Him, wanting a different kind of king
Those who see Him rightly and are saved
This passage forces the question: Which one are you?
Christ is King—whether acknowledged or not.
📖 Scripture: Matthew 21:1–17
