Ludendorff is hosting a party to celebrate the firing of the new gas formula that Doctor Poison has concocted for him. Diana enters the castle after incapacitating an aristocratic German woman and stealing her gown as a disguise.

Diana enters the room and meets Ludendorff, whom she assumes to be the mortal disguise of Ares and plans to kill him before Steve intervenes and prevents her from doing so, fearful that their covers would be blown and result in their deaths too.

Ludendorff then fires the new gas at the battle lines from an artillery gun to the castle houses. The gas has the desired effect, killing thousands of troops from both sides and civilians as well. Horrified by the result of the gas, Diana blames Steve for letting it happen as a result of letting Ludendorff live. She rides to the complex behind the castle, pursued by Steve, where a larger supply of the gas is being loaded into a bomber plane to drop the gas on London and force the Allies to surrender.

Ludendorff: Enjoying the party?

Diana: I confess, I'm not sure what it is we're celebrating. A German victory, of course (Diana in blue dress in the castle)
Ludendorff: Victory?
Diana: When I hear peace could be so close.
Peace? There's only an armistice in an endless war.
Diana: Thucydides.
Ah! You know your Ancient Greeks. They understood that war is a god. A god that requires human sacrifice. And in exchange, war gives man purpose, meaning, a chance to rise above his petty, mortal, little self and be courageous, noble, better!
Diana: Only one of the many gods believed in that.
You know nothing of the gods.

If you kill Ludendorff before we find the gas, we won't be able to stop anything.
I will stop Ares!
What if you're wrong?
What if there is no Ares?
You don't believe me. I can't let you do this. What I do is not up to you.

What did they fire?
You stopped me from killing Ares!
- Stay away from me! I understand everything now. It isn't just the Germans that Ares has corrupted. It's you, too. All of you. I will find Ares and I will kill him.
That smoke,
Follow the smoke!

Wonder Woman is a 2017 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name, produced by DC Films in association with RatPac Entertainment and Chinese company Tencent Pictures, and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. It is the fourth installment in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). Directed by Patty Jenkins from a screenplay by Allan Heinberg and a story by Heinberg, Zack Snyder, and Jason Fuchs, Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot in the title role, alongside Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Connie Nielsen, and Elena Anaya. It is the second live action theatrical film featuring Wonder Woman following her debut in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.[7] In Wonder Woman, the Amazon princess Diana sets out to stop World War I, believing the conflict was started by the longtime enemy of the Amazons, Ares, after American pilot and spy Steve Trevor crash-lands on their island Themyscira and informs her about it.

Cast:
Gal Gadot as Diana: An immortal Amazon warrior goddess who is the crown princess of Themyscira and the daughter of Queen Hippolyta and Zeus given to the Amazons to raise. Describing Wonder Woman and her appeal, Gadot said "She's relatable. She has the heart of a human and is very compassionate, but her experiences—or lack of them, her naivete, really—make her interested in everything around her and able to view the world in a way that we'd all like to: with a genuine curiosity." On taking on the role as Wonder Woman, Gadot stated "I feel very privileged that I got the opportunity to portray such an iconic, strong female character. I adore this character and everything that she stands for and everything that she symbolizes."

Danny Huston as Erich Ludendorff: An iron-fisted general of the German Army during World War I. Huston described Ludendorff as a "pragmatist, realist, patriotic, fighting for his country", further explaining, "he lost his son on the German front lines and was just quite tortured, diabolical, stubborn and believes that what he's doing is for the betterment of mankind."

David Thewlis as Sir Patrick Morgan / Ares: Diana's treacherous paternal half-brother, based on the Greek mythological god of war, who masquerades as a speaker for peace on the Imperial War Cabinet as part of his deceptive master plan of conquest and destruction.
