Wolfenstein 3D from 1992 had Diana exploring a very primitive 3D world but now with Myst, the world detail seems to have skyrocketed. This is because Myst from 1993 doesn't run in real time. Instead you move around the world by viewing 2D pre-rended images of a well-crafted and mysterious 3D world. Sure, it may feel like watching a slide show, but it's beauty and gameplay depth makes up for it!
In each episode of Diana Games Through Time we will play one PC game from each year in chronological order starting from 1978. We will watch as black and white text on a screen turns into millions of colours in a 3d expansive living and breathing universe. Look forward to a new episode every friday in this 42 episode series!
