The Sony FDR-AX100E is a fantastic consumer handycam able to capture ultra sharp 4K footage at 25 frames per second. Is 4K really that much of an improvement over 1080p though? Well watch this video in 4K (ensuring that you have a 4K monitor or TV) and you'll see how amazing 4K really looks.
I've even used a 1080p CX190 to record the same scene and display it side by side with the 4K footage allowing you to truly see how much more detail can be displayed with 4K over 1080p. 1080p footage is clearly labeled in the video so you'll know when you're looking at 4k or 1080p footage.
