Panasonic Lumix S5 has the DFD (Depth From Defocus) Autofocus system which simulates the phase AF using several exposures based focused by contrast-based system. It supports up to 480 fps readout. The DFD for AFC (continuous autofocus) can be set from -5 to +5 for speed and -3 to +3 for sensitivity.
In this test, there is a comparion between combination od speeds -5, +0, and +5 with sensitivities -3, +0, and +3 both in 30p and 60p modes. Moreover, there is also a comparison between 30 fps and 60 fps. Therefore, you can evaluate how the performance changes with each setting.
The test was created by driving a toy car there and back in AFC Tracking mode. There were 3 runs each time. The car has driven closer to the camera (4 seconds), break (2 seconds), the car returned back (4 seconds) and another break (2 seconds). In the following runs, the drive was shortened to 3 seconds and 2 seconds respectively.
