Detroit Henry Ford (7-1) was appearing in their second straight PSL championship game this time against Detroit Denby (8-0). Henry Ford won, 51-20. Ford had four backs with over 100 yards rushing: All-American Leon Merritt (University of Colorado), Londell Bright (Oklahoma State University), Marquie Jemison (Oklahoma State University) and Dennis Hubbard (University of Oklahoma), and coached by third-year coach Mike Marshall. Denby was led by running back Travis Reece (Michigan State University).
