Round 1 || Group 1 || Sad Friendship
This is for CCK95's Non/Disney tournament. I entered for the crossover section. My theme was a sad friendship, and I decided to use John Smith and Cinderella.
Storyline:
Cinderella is a maid that works in Lady Tremaine's household. Lady Tremaine has three children: John, Anastasia, and Drizella. John and Cinderella have a very strong bond, despite it not being proper for a maid to befriend the household. John cares for Cinderella and does not like the way his mother and sisters treat her. He always tries to encourage Cinderella about her hopes and dreams and never to give up.
One night, John surprises Cindy with a dress he bought her for the royal ball. When they are ready to leave, his jealous sisters destroy the dress. Lady Tremaine does not reprimand them, and they leave.
Cindy is devastated, but John rushes to her side and tells her it's finally time to leave and pursue her dreams. With his encouragement and support, she decides to go. As she gets on the ship she looks back fondly at her only friend, and wonders what will become of her. On the ship, she meets Prince Charming, and they fall in love.
SPOILERS DON'T READ UNTIL END:
Years pass and Cinderella is happy with her new family. However, news comes to her that John was caught in a storm on one of his voyages, and drowned trying to save one of his men. She is heart broken, but thanks to John she has a loving family that will support her always.
