Ok, this chapter is going to be pretty intense! I hope everyone enjoys it. I had a lot of fun making it. Please let me know your thoughts!!!!
Plot:
Lancelot finally confronts Gwen about their wedding. He wants Arthur to know about the engagement. Gwen feels like there is no way out now, and she does care for Lancelot, so she decides to accept her fate.
At a banquet, Lancelot announces their engagement. Arthur is in shock, but tries to play it cool. A jousting tournament is held that week for Gwen's engagement. Arthur watches in torment as Gwen receives flowers from Lancelot. Gwen feels extremely guilty for not having talked to Arthur before. She tries to see him and explain the situation, but Arthur is very angry with her and sends her away.
Gwen talks to Merlin about her distress. Merlin tries to help her. He tells her not to lose hope. On one of the tournament days, Gwen goes to visit Arthur and tells him she has never stopped loving him. During one of the jousting matches, Arthur and Lance joust, and Arthur is injured. Lancelot decides to end the match in respect for Arthur. Gwen is very grateful to her future husband. The next day, Gwen is watching Arthur from one of the balconies of the castle. Gaius finds her and tries to soothe her worries and give her hope. But Gwen has decided that she must end it with Arthur so that he can move on and try to be happy.
She slips a note under Arthur's door to have him meet her in the throne room at midnight. Arthur goes to her and they argue about their feelings. (If this part is too confusing, i will post dialogue.) Meanwhile, an assassin has come to Camelot to try to kill Arthur. Merlin and Gaius discover a guard's dead boy. Merlin seeks out Lancelot to help him catch the assassin. When Arthur goes to leave Gwen in the throne room, the assassin walks in.
