Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) is the art, science and skill to design for manufacturability using 3D printers.
Different from traditional manufacturing, this additive design process empowers engineers to create more intricate shapes and production parts while reducing weight and material consumption. At the same time, it brings its own design preference, by following the logic to design a part for additive manufacturing, it allows the performance to be optimized, it means better performance or less trouble, sometimes both of them.
In this video, Markforged engineer, Li Chen from Singapore, will bring you the insight on optimizing the conformal channel design from the design of additive manufacturing. Buckle up!
