It was a joy to catch up with my friend Derek Gripper while I was in Cape Town. Derek is a sensation guitarist who plays the Cora music of Mali on a vintage Hauser classical guitar. Because of course!

I visited Derek at his home to interview him for Life On The Fretboard - my podcast for Fretboard Journal but before we started with that I couldn’t resist hearing my new Casimi guitar in his hands. Derek suggested we use his vintage Nagra reel-to-reel for the audio and the results are this jewel of a session. I hope you enjoy it!
