The new “Departing” video shows how to depart from docks or slips by using boat engine shifts, throttles, and steering, giving consideration to wind and current, while properly managing lines and maintaining a proper lookout throughout all activities.
Viewers will also learn how to make clear departures from mooring buoys and shorelines by confirming there are no conflicts with their boats’ intended actions in relation to other boats or activities in the vicinity, avoiding contact with mooring lines and buoys, and without damaging the propulsion unit.
