After arriving the previous day, we spent Dennis's birthday genuinely exploring Chicago. We had breakfast at the hotel (where we found Marilyn Monroe's initials carving into the bar), and then walked to Millennium Park (with a quick detour inside the Harry Potter Chicago store), where we took pictures at the Bean, and then went into the Art Institute of Chicago to see some famous paintings in person. We took a bus back to the Drake for an afternoon tea, and (after I walked over to the beach) walked to Lou Malnati's for some deep dish pizza. We went back to the hotel and had some drinks at the hotel bar, Coq d'Or, before going to a local bar for more drinks (and darts and pool) and then finally calling it a night.
