Listen to Tangerine Remix: deniscoleman.lnk.to/TangerineBillenTed
I wrote Tangerine about the truth that comes out in the night. After a certain hour, all the facades we build to hide our insecurities, our fears, our desires crumble down leaving nothing but our genuine self. Tangerine describes that feeling of knowing that someone is fighting their own demons and wanting to help but realising that you still have to be patient. If you bite too soon, they might lash out. But like the tangerine which seems like an ordinary fruit with a rough skin at first, getting to know them is worth it because behind the barriers they put up, they are a genuinely sweet person. That being said, the beauty of Tangerine is that everyone can attach their own meaning to it. đ

Lyrics:
I can make the time
I can make it right
I just to need to know
What youâre hiding from
Shivers down your spine
In the small of the night
Talk about your dreams
Splitting at the seams
Every beautiful trauma
Each imperfection
Is calling me louder
Peeling you open
Every segment is golden
Donât you know that nothingâs ever how it seems
Thick skin so bitter but inside youâre sweet
Blood sugar sky high when youâre next to me
And youâre all I need
Youâre my tangerine
I understand all the things no one else can see
So let me in no you donât need to lie to me
But if I bite too soon I might crack my teeth
Still youâre all I need
Youâre my tangerine
I wish that you could see you
The same way that I do
Then youâd understand
But you say that you canât
Little amber pills
Sunflower hills
I would never change you
Shining like an angel
Every beautiful trauma
Each imperfection
Is calling me louder
Peeling you open
Every segment is golden
Donât you know that nothingâs ever how it seems
Thick skin so bitter but inside youâre sweet
Blood sugar sky high when youâre next to me
And youâre all I need
Youâre my tangerine
I understand all the things no one else can see
So let me in no you donât need to lie to me
But if I bite too soon I might crack my teeth
Still youâre all I need
