I didn't skip the end of the intro. That is literally how it ends in the demo.
No matter who you choose, the kids or the Toy Story characters, you always play in Andy's Room only.
For the most part, you get to do every goal in this level like in the actual game... it's just you have a demo timer to prevent you from making too much progress.
As a note, you can make your kid skater in this demo. That function doesn't change at all and works 100%, just you cannot save the changes.
