NOAA's Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) Community Day was held on May 13, 2022 for Demonstrating the Hyperspectral Microwave Sensor (HyMS) and Assessing the Benefits for NOAA’s Mission.

The Office of System Architecture and Advanced Planning (OSAAP) discussed their interest in microwave hyper-spectral remote sensing technology that has been shown theoretically to provide great advantages to a number of applications important to NOAA, including atmospheric temperature and moisture sounding enhancement, extending sounding to active scenes (cloudy, precipitating, etc.), offering additional information to better sense surface and hydrometeor parameters, and other areas.
