’Retrodeath’ is an album that weve put more thought and care into than anything weve previously worked on. I went into it knowing I wanted to create something that was equally death metal and synthwave, and in order to do that we became completely immersed in the source material. I spent weeks consuming nothing but 80s action and horror movies and playing old video games, and spent hours researching and emulating the exact synths used in the 80s to create some of my favorite soundtracks. I think that ‘Retrodeath’ is the beginning of a new sound and approach to songwriting for Bonginator. Erik Thorstenn/Bonginator.
