This Gazebo has been in our yard for four decades. My mom has planted dozens of flowers around it, my kids have played in and around it. Come to think of it, they have never seen the home place without it. Many a photo have been taken in front of the old Gazebo as we have grown up celebrating the different events in our lives. But, as time goes on, many things change and I decided that it was time to make this change as the Gazebo was in dire need of repair and painting. As the Gazebo needed attention in the past, my dad would take his time and carefully replace or repair the weathered railing and patiently paint every square inch. Now, as I have a much busier life, more kids, more hobbies and a much more off-the-wall schedule than my dad, I have to say it's time to go because I don't have the time that it takes to bring the Gazebo back to the shape it needs to be in to look presentable. It kind of reminds me of the song, they paved paradise to put up a parking lot but nevertheless, it's time and I have to admit, the process of demolition is always enjoyable.
