Recorded in 1967 for the aborted "Home & Away" album along with 11 other songs.
"Home and Away" was eventually released under the title "And the Music Plays On" ( a single Del had actually recorded in 1974!).. . It's My Feeling and the 10 other 1967 tracks was a collaboration with Andrew Oldham which resulted as full-blown Phil Spector-style wall-of-sound productions. But alas, the record got ditched ! Interestingly, Del explored the Psychedelic genre in 1968 with the LP/CD "The Further Adventures of Charles Westover" that yielded the classic hit "Gemini".
England's specialist reissue label Beat Goes On later rediscovered the album by re-releasing "And the Music Plays On" coupled with "Live in England" some 17 years ago.
Today, Home and Away, has since been remastered and released (yet again) (EMI/Zonophone 0946 374853 2, 2006 -- reissued Now Sounds CRNOW 40, 2012)
Personally, I love the Home and Away sessions. Hoping to hear from other Del fans what they think of the song and any particular reason why Home and Away was not released when originally made.
