It’s Fawning Season here in Rhode Island and around most of the country.

So, if you see a deer that looks a little out of shape, leave her alone, she’s pregnant! And if you’re on a hike and see a baby deer, please don’t touch it, the mom is nearby. Even though it may look injured, chances are it’s just trying to hide. Unless it’s in a dangerous spot, like the middle of the road. In that case, absolutely move it to a safer area. Somewhere shady, with a little bit of cover, so it’s not easily seen by prey.
