2022 Data-driven Optimization Workshop: Deep Reinforcement Learning in Supply Chain Optimizations

There are plenty of optimization problems in industry, e.g., inventory management, vehicle routing etc. However, scale of these problems often makes traditional OR approaches unfeasible in these scenarios. In this talk, I will present potentials of deep reinforcement learning in solving large scale optimization problems in industry. I will start from two case studies with our industrial partners together with some preliminary results: one is about inventory management optimization for a retailer and the other is on-call orders scheduling in real-time for a logistics company. Finally, I will end the talk by introducing you to the main challenges we are facing.
