Hello everyone,
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to provide an update following the recent hearing on 14 October 2024 regarding the defamation case brought against me by Deep Cycle Systems Pty Ltd (DCS).
The purpose of the hearing was for the Judge to determine whether DCS is an “excluded corporation”, meaning a corporation that is allowed to sue in defamation. It is not an excluded corporation if it has 10 or more employees or is associated to another corporation.
During the hearing, we argued that DCS has not demonstrated sufficient evidence to qualify as an excluded corporation to be eligible to sue for defamation.
Furthermore, we submitted that DCS failed to submit all requested documentation concerning their overseas operations, particularly regarding their alleged co-owned factory in China.
During proceedings, Paul admitted to publishing matters about DCS that were not true, including having said to me that the turnover for his company in one particular year was $20 million.
Both parties have now presented their arguments, and we await the judge's decision. There is no set timeline for when a verdict will be delivered—it could take months. If the Judge finds in my favour, then the case will be at an end. Obviously, we hope for that outcome.
Should the ruling favour DCS, we intend to continue our legal battle by requesting another hearing to address the second criterion necessary for a defamation claim: establishing that DCS suffered serious financial loss directly attributable to my video.
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has donated and supported me thus far. The case remains ongoing and everything is still open until a verdict is reached.

Over the past two years, I noticed many of my sometimes older but perfectly functioning and often expensive electronic devices becoming unusable due to a sticky, gooey plastic housing that seems to self-destruct. The first two products happened to I tried a repair with a mix of baking soda and water, which does work quite well if you can take the case completely off. However, over time more and more products showed up with the same issue, and some of them were more expensive products like my $1000 Fuji camera or various of my Zoom Audio recorders and with many buttons and switches, its nearly impossible to clean the products (not to mention you will take all the writing of the cover). The sticky, gooey plastic affair affects millions of products in every price range.
Do you reckon its acceptable that perfectly working products become unusable after x years because of the plastic housing self-destructing?
Have you had success getting products replaced (even after the warranty period) if they became unusable because of sticky plastic?

This issue is covered under warranty regardless of the date of purchase. If you would like to ship your device to our office in New York, we can offer a new replacement H4n Pro Black at no cost. The H4n Pro Black uses a different housing that will not be subjected to hydrolysis, so this issue will not occur again.
This is the response from Boya, who creates cheaper wireless microphones etc.
We have two years of warranty, outside warranty,our side also can provide repair if you are willing to pay repair fee, our side dont say there is no after sale service for your products,I hope you can look at my previous email carafully, thank you.
