Over the past two years, I noticed many of my sometimes older but perfectly functioning and often expensive electronic devices becoming unusable due to a sticky, gooey plastic housing that seems to self-destruct. The first two products happened to I tried a repair with a mix of baking soda and water, which does work quite well if you can take the case completely off. However, over time more and more products showed up with the same issue, and some of them were more expensive products like my $1000 Fuji camera or various of my Zoom Audio recorders and with many buttons and switches, its nearly impossible to clean the products (not to mention you will take all the writing of the cover). The sticky, gooey plastic affair affects millions of products in every price range.
Do you reckon its acceptable that perfectly working products become unusable after x years because of the plastic housing self-destructing?
Have you had success getting products replaced (even after the warranty period) if they became unusable because of sticky plastic?

This issue is covered under warranty regardless of the date of purchase. If you would like to ship your device to our office in New York, we can offer a new replacement H4n Pro Black at no cost. The H4n Pro Black uses a different housing that will not be subjected to hydrolysis, so this issue will not occur again.
This is the response from Boya, who creates cheaper wireless microphones etc.
We have two years of warranty, outside warranty,our side also can provide repair if you are willing to pay repair fee, our side dont say there is no after sale service for your products,I hope you can look at my previous email carafully, thank you.

I sat in the latest model, which according to Ineos, is pretty much done besides some small changes under the bonnet and cosmetic stuff. In my opinion, the seating position is bad for someone my size, while I sat in the back, two other people who were around my height jumped into the drivers seat and said exactly the same to their friends. If you are anywhere around 190cm, I strongly suggest sitting in one before buying. For me, its definitely ruled out as a tourer as the seating position is nothing that you can modify or change.

We continue our Simpson Desert Cross Country 4wd adventure with kids. We are stationary for two nights on a remote, beautiful claypan and explore our surroundings. CORRECTION!!!! With the Seasucker the Lube is only for pump maintenance DONT use it on the rubber suction area just leave it dry or wet it with water no lube there. My Bad.

Some of you may be wondering about my legal battle against Deep Cycle Systems Pty Ltd, or DCS.
DCS is currently suing me for defamation after I tested and reviewed several sets of LiFePo4 under-bonnet batteries provided by DCS.
Recently, DCS, through their lawyers, demanded that I amend my GoFundMe and Patreon pages and remove my video requesting donations. They claim they have no objection to me fundraising for the litigation but insist that I mustn’t mention DCS or the fact that there’s a court case in the Brisbane district court. If I don’t agree to their demands, they are threatening to seek a court order.
