Ever since his wife left him to date an astronaut, news anchor Franklin Burns devoted a lot more time to "wishing death upon humanity, and especially my ex-wife Nancy" in his segment "Frank Burns with Frank Burns," wherein he would "burn" things in a harsh and "frank" manner. Frank's wish would be almost fully granted upon the arrival of the world-ending meteor, but for his ex-wife and her new beau Captain Richards, who toasted each other with champagne in zero gravity as the world was eclipsed by fire and ash below.
