Dear Melody is a poetry animation, inspired by AJR's song 'Dear Winter' and the music and many songs that have been with me since the beginning.

This poetry animation was first intended to remain a poem, a story to my future daughter, but due to wanting to make something real, something powerful and honest, I decided to turn it into an animation and bring it into the world.
Never have I opened my heart this much and spoken the truth this honestly, as I reveal my dearest wish.

Dear Melody, I hope you see this one day, and may it light the way for you through every chapter of your life.

Dear Melody,

From a million songs you came to be.
A fragile sound in my ears, and a few thousand mesmerising tears.
The Magic of infinite words, and the instruments of life inspired your existence.
Sung by songbirds again and again, beautiful and enchanting every iteration.

You are the encore I’m granted every single time.
Every time the day is about to end, and I’m about to leave it all behind.
Put it all aside, for a new day to start.
For a new night to start, with you in my heart.
Yet we’re decennia apart.

I’m walking a Tightrope, Melody.
A million stories are keeping me awake, yet it’s always you.
An Insomnia world without you, yet my head is filled with only you.
Say Something, Melody, so that I know you’re here with me.
So that I know you’ll be here with me.
Always.

Countless Silhouettes of my future with you flash by every now and then.Some take longer, some are over quickly.
But it hasn’t done me well.
There are Demons among me, and they are pulling the strings.
Or so it feels.

I’m left to wait, to wonder, to question, if it will even work out for me.
A future, where you can be a reality.
Will I hurt just a little? Or for years to come?
I’m left terrified, for anyone to Break My Heart Again.
But remaining hopeful, every now and then.
I’m Sorry for giving up sometimes, but I’ll always try again, alright?

If she would’ve said:
‘Do you want to Die Alone?
Or watch it all burn together?'
I would’ve answered:
'I’d rather try to hold on to you forever.’
And once I find her, by God I will.

I have such High Hopes… when it all comes to an end.
But the world keeps spinning… around.

Yet I know, if I stepped aside, released the controls, you would open my eyes.
That somehow, all of this mess, is just an attempt to know the worth of my life.

In the Embers I reside, time and time again.
But as someone wise once said:
‘Like fireworks, we pull apart the dark.
Compete against the stars, with all of our hearts.
Until our temporary brilliance turns to ash, we pull apart the darkness while we can.’

I would like to make an adjustment to something I once said.
There is another weapon one can yield to fight the dark, and it isn’t just friendship.
My words now sound:
‘You know why the light always wins?
Because the dark tends to forget that besides friendship… love, powerful, honest love, is our greatest weapon.’
Together… we will Weather the Storm.

And as I’ll fight the dark forever, I pray to create a light, one I’ll see flickering in your eyes.
And as we fight the dark together, we create The Lightest of Days.
But for now, as I fight the dark alone, I’ll make sure… that I’m not.
After all, one of my greatest friends, a Brother to me… once said, something to remember:
‘One day I’ll grow up and look back.
Thinking, oh what a present, that past.
Should’ve been happy with what I had.
I just didn’t understand yet.’

Melody, I cannot wait for you to see… what a wonderful person you could be.
I cannot wait for you to see My Hometown, my friends and family.
I cannot wait to see you Grow up into the melody everyone needs.
The spark, the light, a bandage for whenever someone bleeds.
And of course, to wherever your adventure leads.

I’m sorry for the world we left behind, I was once lost in anger because of it.
This is what we made of it.
Truly, I’m ashamed of this.
All that’s left to say is that I’m Angry at the World.
But darling, there’s something else you should know.
