"Dead Dad," written by BerkleeNYC students Sio Tepper and Patrick Deane Greeley is BerkleeNYC's second release from the Writing and Design for Musical Theater Showcase "Uphill Climb."
The concept for “Dear Dad” started from a conversation about the disconnect between parents and children. The aim was to have the audience connect with the protagonist’s ideals and frustrations, but also be able to empathize with a different perspective. It’s clear that they both have the same moral compass but present it in different ways.
The themes explored in "Dear Dad" were underscored by projection mapping and lighting designers from the Live Experience Design program at BerkleeNYC.
