CPS Energy crews and contractors continued working overnight Monday to restore power to thousands of customers still impacted by recent severe weather.
The utility said crews restored electricity to more than 85,000 customers on Sunday, resolving 710 weather-related outages between 6 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
As of a 1:45 a.m. update, 393 outages remained across CPS Energy’s service area, affecting about 4,300 customers. Officials said crews are encountering complex storm damage that can require specialized equipment, multiple crews and extensive tree or debris removal before repairs can safely begin.
“While significant progress has been made, we know that it does not lessen the frustration for customers who remain without power,” CPS Energy said in its update.
As of 5 a.m., 340 active outages were reported affecting 2,243 customers, according to CPS Energy's Outage Map.
Residents without electricity are encouraged to continue using emergency backup plans or make arrangements to stay somewhere cool and safe. All six City of San Antonio Resilience Hubs remain open for people experiencing extended outages, offering cooling, basic supplies, device charging, free Wi-Fi and separate areas for pets.

VIA Metropolitan Transit is also providing free transportation to the Resilience Hubs and daytime cooling locations.
CPS Energy reminded residents to stay away from downed power lines and treat all lines as energized. Downed lines can be reported by calling 210-353-HELP (4357), while emergencies should be reported to 911.
Drivers are also urged to slow down and move over when approaching utility crews working along roadways.
