The 1.27 Update has arrived on all platforms, marking the first milestone of 2025. We’re thrilled to continue DayZ’s journey with you in the new year!
If you’ve followed DayZ’s update cycles, you’ll know that the first update of each year is typically a stability update, focusing on addressing ongoing issues and laying the groundwork for the year ahead. While 1.27 fulfills that role, it also goes beyond, introducing interesting new features and improvements.
Here’s what’s new in 1.27:
- A new backpack slot for select melee weapons, alongside reworked slots for personal radios and glowsticks.
- New locations, landmarks, and assets for Sakhal/DayZ Frostline, including expanded settlements/towns.
- Rebalanced fishing mechanics for a more immersive experience.
- Immersive sound reworks for SMGs, footsteps, and bullet cracks.
- A wooden variant of the legendary VSD firearm.
- New particle effects, from snow falling off trees when shaken to breath vapor, vomiting, and bleeding effects.
- Plus, numerous quality-of-life improvements.
