Day 3: Shut Pubs & Secret Wins 🍻
Can a trailer (and me!) handle the ultimate 100-mile Dartmoor & Exmoor challenge? 🥾⛰️
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Two Moors Way, I am taking on the ultimate backpacking challenge: walking over 100 miles from Ivybridge all the way to Lynmouth.
Here is the thing—I am NOT a long-distance walker. Normally, I consider a 5 to 10-mile hike to be "hard," so throwing myself into a 100-plus mile trek is completely uncharted territory. To make things even more interesting, instead of a traditional backpack, I am using a specialized trekking trailer to haul all of my wild camping gear across some of the UK's toughest terrain!
What happens in Day 3?
The honeymoon phase is officially over. Day 3 threw some me serious mental hurdles my way—including the absolute heartbreak of finding the local pubs shut when I needed a lift the most. 🛑🍺
Morale hit a wall... until the trail provided. I ended up stumbling into the ultimate turnaround: a great pitch, a hot shower, and charging facilities to keep this journey alive. ⚡
