Day 46 and Simon the SatNav is at it again! The plan: ride from Italy into France. The reality: I somehow end up in Switzerland… which wasn’t even on the itinerary!
After a heated “chat” with Simon (and a few choice words), I backtracked down the valley, avoided a sneaky toll road, and finally found the right pass. Through La Thuile, over the Petite St Bernard Pass, past Bourg St Maurice, and then straight into… Lyon city centre. Big mistake. Endless traffic, wrong turns, and me getting well and truly lost. Cheers Simon.
Eventually, I escaped the chaos and rolled into Château De Matel in Roanne — after one of the longest, funniest, and most chaotic days of the trip.
